BCV In The City
Want to study at Bible College but worried that we're too far away? If you live or work around the Melbourne CBD area, BCV In The City is the perfect solution. BCV In The City is a Thursday evening class which is open to all, and conveniently located just off Swanston Street in the city. Each subject unit runs for one semester and is equivalent to the subjects run at our Lilydale campus. All subjects belong to courses of the Australian College of Theology and are fully accredited, so they can count towards an undergraduate or graduate program if you choose.
Semester 2, 2009 'From Israel to Judea
(OT302/502 - Formative Old Testament Traditions)
The subject seeks to give you an historical and theological perspective on topics that begin with the period of the classical eighth century (Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, Micah) up until the post-exilic period of Malachi in 400 BC. Other main topics within this survey include Josiah and the final years of the Kingdoms, the Exile, the Post Exilic restoration and reconstruction, the Wisdom movement, and the book of Daniel and Apocalyptic literature.
Your lecturer, Dr. Ted Woods, is the Senior Old Testament scholar and BCV faculty member, and is currently writing a commentary on Deuteronomy for the Tyndale Old Testament commentary series.
